The project
The Collective is a network and movement of urban and semi-urban people in the city of Oaxaca. We emerged with the idea of regaining control of our diet through sustainable practices and an appreciation for the natural environment.
General objective
The Collective promotes healthy eating through raising awareness about preserves, ferments, vegetable cultivation, composts, fertilizers, among other methods of sustainable food production such as avoiding pesticides, using open pollination, and other agroecological approaches. Through the sustainable food production, we also hope to cultivate healthy relationships.
Mutual help
The Collective emphasizes collaboration and solidarity working with both individuals and groups. The Collective supports sustainability in both homes as well as community spaces, with a special emphasis on relationships with family, friends and neighbors, creating a community.
